Hallway furniture
The hallway is the narrowest place in a home, and it has to hold a wardrobe, somewhere for shoes and somewhere to sit. We fit all of that within 35-40 cm of depth.
How to fit everything into a narrow hallway
A standard 60 cm wardrobe in a 120 cm hallway eats half the walkway. So for a hallway we build 35-40 cm deep and hang clothes on a pull-out rail facing you, across the cabinet rather than along it. Capacity barely drops, and the walkway survives.
Shoes take more room than people expect: for two people between seasons that is 8-12 pairs. Tilting drop-down shoe boxes around 25 cm deep hold three levels where an ordinary shelf would hold one.
Somewhere to sit while putting shoes on is the main reason hallways get rebuilt. A folding bench or a pull-out seat takes about 10 cm when closed, and this is the case where those 10 cm are worth it.
Solutions for a narrow walkway
Pull-out rail
Clothes hang across the cabinet and slide out towards you. Full hanging storage with a carcass only 35 cm deep.
Tilting shoe store
A drop-down box for shoes. Three or four levels within the height of a single cabinet, shoes visible and nothing falling out.
Open rail
For what is worn every day: the coat nobody wants to fold into a wardrobe and button onto a hanger each evening.
Overhead storage
Above the entrance or above the door. For suitcases, tools and seasonal things, in space that a hallway almost always wastes.
The short answers
What is the minimum depth for a hallway wardrobe?
35 cm with a pull-out rail, 40 cm with an end-mounted rail for short garments. Below 30 cm it only makes sense for shelves, hooks and a mirror.
Can a hinged-door wardrobe go in a hallway one metre wide?
An open door would take 35-40 cm of the walkway, which makes passing awkward. At that width we use a sliding system, bi-fold doors, or open sections with no front at all.
What about the electrical panel and the meters?
We build a removable filler panel or a magnet-held door into the same front. Access to the panel stays complete, and from the hallway it is out of sight.

Where to start
The simplest way is to call and describe the room briefly. If writing suits you better, leave a request: say what furniture you need and the approximate dimensions, and attach a photo if you wish.
